A flat tire can be more than an inconvenience. Once the tire pressure alert activates due to a punctured tire, you have a little bit of time to slow your vehicle and pull to the roadside. However, that's not always enough time to get to a safer destination. Enter run flat tires. With run-flat tires installed, you have more time to travel after a tire puncture occurs. Typically, run flat tires offer you the ability to drive for another 50 miles after a puncture occurs, but some brands offer run flat tires designed for anywhere from an additional 25 miles to 200 miles. Use these additional miles to get off the highway or to a tire shop.
Many brands offer run flat tires, including: Bridgestone, Continental, MICHELIN®, Pirelli, and more.
